August 24, 2001, Newsletter Issue #35: Recovering From Your Caesarean

Tip of the Week

**If you find that you canīt get in and out of bed without pain, try sleeping on a couch that has a large enough back to it that you can gently pull yourself up. Pulling up with assistance is a lot easier than having to use those tender tummy muscles!

**To take deep breaths, sneeze, laugh or cough, try using a splint. Simply place a pillow gently against your abdomen and lightly lean into it.

**During the first few times you take steps, be sure to have someone help you. If you become lightheaded or dizzy, take a break before trying again.
