March 23, 2001, Newsletter Issue #13: Dealing With Emotions After A C-Section

Tip of the Week

Regret is one of the most common emotions that a new mother can feel after having a C-section. Most mothers plan on a vaginal delivery, and are often unprepared for the harsh reality and recovery of a C-section. It is important to deal with the feelings of regret, and focus on what it was in particular that brought on those feelings. If you feel regretful because you feel as though you failed or your doctor failed, be sure to discuss this with family, friends, or even your doctor.
